"Wild Bunch" Guidelines
The two regularly scheduled "Wild Bunch" matches will be held on the first three stages of our course. Fee $10.00. You will be using one (1) single action revolver, one (1) 1911 style pistol (no optic sights or compensators), two (2) clips, each loaded with six (6) rounds. One (1) pistol caliber lever (or pump) SASS legal rifle and either a Winchester model 1897 or model Twelve. (You may use a SXS but you will be severely handicapped) Just ask if you need to borrow a pump.
The single action revolver may either be holstered or staged on the table, loaded with five (5) rounds, hammer down on an empty chamber.
The 1911 will always be staged on the table, slide locked open, pointed downrange, with the two (2) loaded mags beside it.
The rifle will be staged as usual.
The shotgun will be always staged on the table, pointed downrange, with five (5) rounds in the magazine, hammer down on an empty chamber. There will be no less than five (5) shotgun targets per stage, and all must be hit. Load extra rounds from person as needed.
The match fee will include the option of shooting five (5) stages. We will only set up three (3) stages BUT you may re-shoot any two (2) to try and improve your score. If you choose to re-shoot you MUST take your second score! Scoring will be for the three stages only.
Note: If you don't have a 1911 pistol let me know. I will have four (4) 1911's there as well as some commercially loaded lead .45 ACP ammo for sale.
The only exception to these guidelines will be The Wild Bunch match during True Grit, two day match. That will be two (2) Single actions, one (1) 1911, two (2)rifles, and one shotgun (no less than eight (8) rounds each stage. Why, you ask? Cause it's True Grit!
